CPC Inox in Gessate is even greener!

We have completed the planting work at our Gessate plants. We planted 80 new trees and over 1500 ornamental plants and even brought palm trees inside our sheds!

We carefully chose the species to be planted, favouring plants known for their powerful pollutant-absorbing capacities, such as Ginkgo and English Oak, which grew from five to an impressive 52 specimens.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

We chose to carry out this great project to promote a milder climate during the summer (did you know that trees can reduce the temperature by 2 to 8 degrees?) and improve the air we breathe every day. Thanks to this initiative, we will remove more than 9 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere every year.

In 30 years, this means over 282 tonnes of CO2 less.

WHY PLANTS ARE IMPORTANT

  • An increase in green areas, combined with a net reduction of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere, is an important lever for combating climate change.
  • Through photosynthesis, plants absorb carbon from the atmosphere and fix it in plant tissue.
  • As it grows, the tree stores more and more carbon, keeping it in its accumulated tissue and thus reducing more and more of it in the atmosphere.
  • Maintaining healthy trees also contributes to reducing carbon emissions. Only careful and constant care prevents a tree from dying and thus releasing much of its stored carbon again.

We take pride in improving the planet for ourselves and for future generations. One tree at a time.
