APPLE’S ZERO IMPACT

That Apple products are synonymous with quality and innovation is known to all.

What not everyone may not know, however, is the commitment to sustainability that the Cupertino-based company has made.

A plan with the future at its heart, that of Apple, which has set itself a ‘zero impact’ goal by 2030. Buzzwords: clean energy and recycling.

By then, every Apple product will be made with clean energy and even more recycled and renewable materials. How will it achieve this?

Here is a summary of the main activities.

  • By recycling: either by using recycled materials or by recycling old Apple devices to recover materials such as gold, cobalt, tungsten and rare earths, to be reused in a new production cycle.
  • By building with clean energy: Apple suppliers are already switching to using electricity generated by photovoltaic, wind and other renewable sources.
  • Shipping with low-impact solutions: Apple’s least-polluting solutions take priority, such as shipping, rail and electric vehicles.
  • Designing to consume less energy: To reduce the environmental impact of using Apple products around the world, the company continues to increase energy efficiency.

A truly ambitious challenge, in line with those of large companies that, fortunately, are increasingly seeking concrete solutions to address the hottest issue of our century.

With the column “The sustainability we like” we are already telling about some of these virtuous realities since 2022.
