Collective planting together with Forestami

320 new plants: goal reached (and exceeded)

Today Friday 15 March, we have organized for CPC Inox employees a collective planting of trees near the Rio Vallone Park, an area bordering the western perimeter of the Basiano and Mesate municipal union. The intervention area has a total surface area of around 20,295 m2 and will soon be home to no less than 1,332 trees.

The aim of the project? To requalify our territory and expand the marginal areas of the forest by creating a complementary forest that enhances the naturalistic potential of the place.

It was a beautiful morning spent together with colleagues, in a pleasant, off-the-job setting that strengthened team spirit and further raised each of us’ awareness of the environmental cause in which we believe. In a short period of time, thanks to the challenge between departments and the eagerness of our colleagues, we planted 320 trees and shrubs, a good 120 more than the ones that the non-profit Social Cooperative Society La Goccia, which is in charge of managing the maintenance of the park, had previously prepared for us! But you know, the pace of production in CPC travels fast so we rolled up our sleeves and helped the guys from the Association fix up a neighboring area as well.

This initiative was developed together with Forestami*, the project we have been supporting for years and which aims to plant 3 million trees in the Milan metropolitan area by 2030.

It was very exciting to take part in this project, which will become a new forest and which we will get to see grow over the years.

Thank you to all colleagues who participated enthusiastically, good job!
